Organize (COMPEL Stage)
Organize is the second COMPEL stage, focused on building the human and structural infrastructure required to execute transformation.
What this means in practice
This is where the Center of Excellence (CoE) is established or refined, governance structures are designed, the AI Steering Committee is chartered, talent is mobilized, budgets are secured, and the organizational scaffolding for transformation is assembled. Organize addresses three critical dimensions: institutional authority (who owns AI transformation), operational readiness (people, processes, and governance mechanisms), and resource commitment (budget, talent, and executive attention). Research from BCG shows that organizations with dedicated AI governance and coordination structures are 2.5 times more likely to scale AI successfully. Organize is the most frequently underestimated stage by organizations eager to skip to building AI solutions.
