Learn (COMPEL Stage)

Learn is the sixth and final COMPEL stage, and paradoxically both the most strategically undervalued and most organizationally consequential.

What this means in practice

Learn converts a single cycle's experience into permanent organizational capability through four dimensions: knowledge capture (documenting what worked and what did not), process refinement (improving the transformation methodology itself), capability transfer (preventing knowledge from being locked in specialist individuals), and next-cycle planning (producing the strategic brief that feeds the next Calibrate). Without Learn, organizations risk running the same cycle again and again -- doing transformation without actually transforming. Organizations with mature knowledge management practices complete subsequent cycles 30% faster with 22% fewer critical issues.
