Knowledge management is the organizational practice of capturing, organizing, sharing, and applying institutional knowledge to improve decision-making and performance over time.
What this means in practice
In AI transformation, knowledge management is critical because AI capabilities evolve rapidly, lessons from each cycle must compound rather than dissipate, and key expertise often resides in a few specialists whose departure would create dangerous knowledge gaps. The COMPEL Learn stage implements knowledge management through structured knowledge sharing sessions, mentorship pairings, documentation of decision rationale, and hands-on skill transfer workshops. The Learning Lead role owns training, certification, and knowledge management across the transformation program. Without active knowledge management, each COMPEL cycle starts from an impoverished baseline, and the compounding effect that drives transformation value is lost.
