COMPEL Glossary / use-case-intake

Use Case Intake

Use case intake is the structured process of collecting, documenting, evaluating, and prioritizing proposed AI use cases from across the organization through a standardized submission and review workflow.

What this means in practice

The intake process typically captures the business problem, expected value, data requirements, technical feasibility, risk profile, and resource needs for each proposal, enabling the AI Demand Review Board to make informed prioritization decisions. For organizations, a well-designed intake process prevents both the chaos of uncoordinated AI experimentation and the bottleneck of ad hoc request handling. In COMPEL, use case intake is part of the demand management function within the AI operating model, covered in Module 4.4, Article 6.
