COMPEL Glossary / privacy-by-design

Privacy by Design

Privacy by design embeds data privacy protections into AI system design from the earliest stages rather than adding controls afterward.

What this means in practice

Its principles include being proactive, making privacy the default, and ensuring end-to-end security. For organizations, it is a GDPR legal requirement and expectation of other frameworks. In COMPEL, it is part of governance and technology architecture designed during the Model stage.
