COMPEL Glossary / playbook

Playbook

A playbook is a documented set of step-by-step procedures, decision trees, and communication templates for handling specific operational scenarios such as AI incident response, model deployment, stakeholder escalation, or governance review.

What this means in practice

Playbooks translate governance policies into actionable, repeatable procedures that practitioners can follow under pressure without relying on individual judgment for routine decisions. For organizations, playbooks reduce response time, ensure consistency, and enable less experienced team members to handle situations competently. In COMPEL, playbooks are operational artifacts created during the Produce stage for use across the transformation lifecycle.
