Year-over-Year (YoY) Maturity Progression
Year-over-year maturity progression measures how an organization's AI maturity scores change across annual assessment cycles.
What this means in practice
Since COMPEL operates in 12-week cycles with four cycles per year, YoY comparison aggregates the maturity advancement achieved across approximately four COMPEL cycles. YoY tracking is the primary mechanism for demonstrating sustained transformation progress to executive leadership and boards, showing not just individual project outcomes but systematic organizational capability growth. Healthy YoY progression shows consistent advancement across all four pillars without dangerous imbalances. Organizations that show Technology advancement without corresponding Governance advancement, for example, are building capability they cannot safely operate. YoY data also reveals whether the organization is on a trajectory that justifies continued investment or whether transformation has plateaued.
