COMPEL Glossary / GL-08

Production Readiness

The verified state in which an AI system meets all prerequisites for safe, governed operation in a production environment.

What this means in practice

Production readiness is not simply technical deployment capability — it encompasses confirmed operational readiness across all 10 dimensions, activated governance controls, configured monitoring and telemetry, completed user training, documented runbooks, and established escalation paths.

Context in the COMPEL framework

Production readiness is assessed at Gate P (end of Produce stage) and serves as the definitive checkpoint before any AI system enters production operation. It integrates technical, organizational, and governance requirements into a single pass/fail evaluation.

Where you see this

Production Readiness is most commonly referenced when teams work across the Produce and Evaluate stages — especially within the Operational Readiness layer . It appears in governance artifacts, assessment instruments, and delivery playbooks wherever COMPEL is operationalized.
