COMPEL Glossary / micro-credential

Micro-Credential

A focused, stackable credential requiring 12-20 hours of study with automated quiz and portfolio artifact assessment.

What this means in practice

Micro-credentials target a single COMPEL stage or transformation dimension and carry a 24-month renewal cycle with 4 CE credits. They serve as modular building blocks that stack toward specializations. Code prefix: aitm_. Micro-credentials are the entry point for the credential lattice, enabling external training alumni and other practitioners to begin their COMPEL journey with a low-friction, stage-specific credential.

Why it matters

Micro-credentials lower the barrier to entry for AI transformation credentialing, allowing professionals to demonstrate stage-specific competency without committing to a full certification track. They stack toward specializations and carry CE credits, making every learning investment count toward larger credential goals.

How COMPEL uses it

Micro-credentials map to individual COMPEL stages: Data Readiness (Calibrate), Change Management Design (Organize), Ethical Compliance Integration (Model), Production Excellence (Produce), and Outcome Measurement (Evaluate/Learn). Each validates competency in the specific outputs and decisions of that stage.
